DANGERS OF PLAGIARISM

Updated: Oct 9

Last month, somebody posted a piece my husband earlier wrote without his name.

So this man copied the article, removed my husband's name, posted on his page and sent it to a broadcast list my husband is part of.

🛑It's wrong for you not to acknowledge literary pieces that are not yours.

🛑Some even have the nerve to claim ownership and put their names.

🛑And some put “𝐂𝐎𝐏𝐈𝐄𝐃” when they know the authors and ought to acknowledge them.

Have you seen those kinds of people before?

🛑How about those who give out other people's paid ebooks as freebies/bonuses for their classes?🤦‍♀️

⛔️Plagiarism poses so many dangers to you more than you think:

1️⃣𝐒𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡: Plagiarism prevents you from honing your skills, cultivating your unique voice, and exploring your creative potential.

2️⃣𝐃𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Plagiarism undermines your integrity and credibility as a writer or creator.

3️⃣𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐞𝐬: Plagiarism can lead to legal action, including lawsuits and financial penalties.

4️⃣, 5️⃣, 6️⃣, etc.

Please, do not plagiarise. Your unique voice and original ideas are what make you special.

💫𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐩𝐲𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝

💫𝐀𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐭'𝐬 𝐝𝐮𝐞.

Have you had a similar experience? What do you advise those who plagiarise?
